Open a page in Elementor
- Log into your WordPress dashboard at
yourdomain.com.au/wp-admin. - In the left menu, click Pages.
- Hover over the page you want to edit and click Edit with Elementor. (Not the regular Edit link, that opens the older WordPress editor.)
- The Elementor editor opens with a live preview of your page on the right and a panel of editing tools on the left.
Edit text on the page
Click directly on any heading or paragraph. The left panel switches to show that element's settings. Use the Content tab to change the text directly.
For formatting (bold, italic, links), highlight the text and use the floating mini-toolbar that appears.
Replace an image
- Click the image you want to change.
- In the left panel, click the current image thumbnail.
- The WordPress media library opens. Upload Files to add a new one, or pick from Media Library.
- Click Insert Media. The image updates instantly.
Always add Alt Text when uploading an image. It's the description for screen readers and search engines. Use a short, plain sentence (e.g. "Three Jezweb team members standing in front of the Newcastle office") not just the filename.
Save your changes
Click Update in the bottom-left corner. Your changes go live immediately. There is no separate publish step.
What if I break something?
Elementor has a revision history. Click the small clock icon at the bottom of the editor to see every saved version of the page. You can roll back to any previous version with a single click, your current changes won't be lost, they'll just be replaced.
If a page looks completely broken even after rolling back, tell us and we'll restore from the nightly backup. We've never lost client work to a bad edit.
Adding a brand-new page
Building a whole new page (rather than editing an existing one) is a bigger task. The fastest path is usually to ask us, we can copy the layout of an existing page and adapt it in about 30 minutes, which is much faster than learning Elementor from scratch.
