Add a new account
- Open Thunderbird.
- Click the hamburger menu (top-right) → New → Existing Email Account.
- Fill in:
- Your name: what recipients see
- Email address: your full email address
- Password: your mailbox password
- Click Continue. Thunderbird will probe for settings, if it can't detect them automatically, click Configure manually.
- Manual settings:
- Incoming Server:
- Protocol: IMAP
- Hostname:
ax.email - Port: 993
- Connection security: SSL/TLS
- Authentication: Normal password
- Username: your full email address
- Outgoing Server:
- Hostname:
ax.email - Port: 465
- Connection security: SSL/TLS
- Authentication: Normal password
- Username: your full email address
- Hostname:
- Incoming Server:
- Click Re-test, then Done.
Your inbox loads. First sync may take a few minutes.
Thunderbird is free, open-source, runs on Windows / Mac / Linux, and supports unlimited accounts. It's a great choice if you want one app for multiple email providers.
