In Gmail (most common Android mail app)

  1. Open the Gmail app.
  2. Tap your profile photo in the top-right corner, then Add another account.
  3. Choose Other.
  4. Enter your full email address and tap Next.
  5. Choose Personal (IMAP).
  6. Enter your password and tap Next.
  7. Incoming server settings:
    • Username: your full email address
    • Password: your mailbox password
    • Server: ax.email
    • Port: 993
    • Security: SSL/TLS
    Tap Next.
  8. Outgoing server settings:
    • SMTP server: ax.email
    • Port: 465
    • Security: SSL/TLS
    • Require sign-in: ON
    • Username: your full email address
    • Password: your mailbox password
    Tap Next.
  9. Pick how often to sync (15 minutes is fine for most). Tap Next.
  10. Add a display name. Tap Next. Done.

Samsung Mail or other apps

Look for the option to add an account, choose Other / IMAP, and use the same server settings as above. The fields might be in a slightly different order but the values are identical.

If you'd rather use the same mail app on your phone as you do on your laptop, that's fine too. Most people end up with their email in Gmail (Android) plus another app on desktop, all reading the same inbox via IMAP.
